Though normally presented at Congress, varying circumstances led us to presenting the 2026 award this week at Millen Farms. The Horticulture Nova Scotia Honorary Member award is given to someone who not only exemplifies outstanding support for our industry, but also of our organization. And this year’s recipient meets and exceeds in both areas. Sonny has been an amazing asset to the berry industry as well to Horticulture Nova Scotia, and is well deserving of this recognition!

Thank you to those who attended HNS and partners’ Precision Agriculture Day on August 26th at Dalhousie University. The event showcased research across multiple commodities, highlighting drones, iNaturalist, agrivoltaics, smart-spraying systems, and more!

We have partnered with Nova Scotia Crop & Livestock Insurance Commission to offer the Enhanced Cost Share for Acreage Loss Plan. With this plan, the Province of Nova Scotia may cover 50% of your producer premium for the 2026 and 2027 crop seasons. The application window has now closed.
